David Garcia, Facilities Manager

David’s career began as a teenager, working in his parents’ flower shop in downtown Denver. He loved not only the work but spending time with people during important life events, whether planning their weddings or supporting families when they had lost a loved one. He sold the business in the 90's. David spent over 25 years in the next phase of his career.  As a property manager for commercial and mixed-use properties downtown (not far from the site of his former flower shop), his responsibilities included everything from landscaping, overseeing facility maintenance, and addressing the needs of tenants.

David is excited to be back in similar position, spending time with families during celebrations and supporting them during a loss. A father of three, David is thrilled to serve as the Facilities Manager the Congregation Rodef Shalom, and support a community focused on people, families, and the world. In his free time, David enjoys skiing and mountain biking with his youngest son.

J.R. Hurtado, Maintenance Supervisor

J.R. has been a member of the Rodef staff for over 15 years.  He is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of the main synagogue building, school building and the surrounding grounds and setup and breakdown of chairs, tables and other necessary furniture for Rodef events.  J.R. is also a friend to many of the preschool children and families and members who grew up at Rodef.
