"What does Tikkun Olam Really Mean? An Argument for Systemic Change"

Saturday, March 9, 2019 2 Adar II 5779

9:30 AM - 2:00 PMSanctuary

We live in a world desperately in need of repair. Commenting on Amos, Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel asserts that social justice is not a 'mere tributary' of the Jewish tradition, but a major current of our religious life. At this critical time in the history of our congregation, our city and our country, we are hungry to learn the most effective ways to build a Jewish Social Justice movement: authentically Jewish, genuinely social and laser-focused on justice. Rabbi Margie Klein Ronkin will be our Scholar in Residence this year. Join as she gives a D'Var Torah at services and leads a discussion following an extended and enhanced Kiddush lunch, on ‘What does Tikkun Olam Really Mean? An Argument for Systemic Change.’ This program is free and open to the community, however, advance reservations are encouraged so that we may plan properly. Donations of any size are also welcome.
