“The Story of Esther According to Billy Joel.”
Sunday, March 17, 2019 • 10 Adar II 5779
4:00 PM - 5:30 PMSanctuaryJoin the Perpetually Perplexed Purim Players for another wacky Purim Shpiel, this time featuring 13 of Billy Joel’s greatest hits! While the tunes will all be recognizable, the words have been altered to tell the story in a new way (and to protect the innocent). This is a seriously funny take on the Book of Esther set in a location where you would never expect it! The cast includes members of Rodef Shalom, the Hebrew Educational Alliance and beyond. (With cameo appearances by Rabbis Rachel Kobrin and Salomon Gruenwald.) Showtime is at Rodef Shalom at 4:00 on Sunday, March 17th. Free to all and appropriate for all ages. The PPPP troupe was launched six years ago by Rodef Shalom member Michael Raizen, is produced annually by Michael and his wife, Gail DeVore, is co-sponsored by HEA and Rodef Shalom and is directed this year by Cantor Saul Rosenthal. For more information, please contact Michael Raizen at 303-548-4061 or Gail deVore 303-961-4998.
