Exploring Israel Through Multiple Lenses

Friday, December 1, 2017 13 Kislev 5778

5:45 PM - 8:30 PMSocial Hall/Lobby

A monthly series where we learn and discuss multiple narratives related to Israel in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

The thought-provoking, positive nature of these conversations reflects the respectful standards of our diverse community as well as the skill of our facilitators. We have been guided on spirited group journeys, opening our minds to new perspectives.

"Who knew that Theodore Herzl had a Christmas tree in his house in Vienna?! A fascinating discussion on Zionisim sandwiched between a schmooze and Shabbat services-- a wonderful evening for our family!" - Chandra Rosenthal

"Everyone should be having these conversations." - Dr. Julie Lieber

"This forum affords us to learn from some of our community’s most passionate, gifted thinkers about the Jewish State." - Rabbi Bernard & Sue Parker Gerson

All of our sessions are connected by the same general topic, but past participation is not required for future attendance. These events are open to the community, and nobody will be turned away because of inability to pay. Individuals are welcome to join in any of the parts of the evening.

The sessions start at 5:45 p.m. for schmoozing and light refreshments, 6:00 p.m. discussion, and 7:15 p.m. for services. Cost: $10 per session. $7 per child under 10. Babysitting may be available by request. RSVPs are appreciated at least six days before the start of each session.

This next session will be facilitated by Ben Levy, Director of Judaic Studies at Denver Jewish Day School and his session will be called, "Key Events in Israel 1915-1948."
