Preschool Staff

aLLY sPANBAUER, Preschool Director

I am a Colorado native, who likes to  stay busy with my son Cooper, who will be graduating from Rodef Shalom this coming Spring, and our dog, Maggie.  I have always loved working with children and have been in the childcare field since I was sixteen years old.  I studied at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, majoring in Early Childhood Education, and take pride in continuing my education in early childhood through additional college courses, cohort learning trips, and classes offered through programs such as Colorado Shines and Denver Early Childhood Council.  I love to bring  the ideas and concepts I am learning back to Rodef Shalom.  Prior to working at Rodef Shalom, I ran several before and after school programs, was a camp counselor for children ages 4 and older, and was a nanny for several years while I was in school.  Rodef Shalom has made me realize my true passion is working with ECEC age children.  Watching the sense of wonder and excitement in their eyes everyday is truly inspiring.

Over the last year, as Assistant Director, I have worked closely with all of our teachers on sharing their passions and bringing new and innovative learning models into the classroom.  The energy going through our building on a daily basis is amazing and our children are reaping the benefits of truly passionate and excited teachers.  Email Ally

Alef- one year Olds

Christina Loviska

My name is Christina Loviska  and I am so proud to be a teacher in the One-year old/Aleph classroom here at Rodef Shalom! I have been a nanny in the  Jewish community for over five years now. My love for children, family, adventure, friendships, art, and learning- are all the many reasons why Rodef is where I plan on being for a very long time!
My love for children began at around 5. I grew up in a small town called Plainwell, Michigan. Because I had no younger siblings, and my Mom wouldn't adopt any more for me to raise I started babysitting at the age of 9. Up until I graduated, I had the blessing to assist the development of all my nieces and nephews.  During senior year, I chose to student aide in a kindergarten classroom. After high school, I attended Jackson Community College, where I was a walk- on soccer player.
After two years of attending college full time, and managing to play soccer, I was ready for a change. In 2012 I moved to Colorado. The exact same day, I had an interview with an amazing family that were members at Rodef Shalom Preschool. I was officially in this amazing community that I now call home. I have nannied/educated over 5  families. I used my abilities to form a share and at one time, was managing FOUR families and 12 kiddos throughout the week, and on different daily schedules. I recently finished my teaching licensure and am continuing to learn more through various trainings and observation. Teaching is always changing and evolving.
In March I accepted a position at Rodef Shalom.  The overwhelming love I have for these children, and my desire to watch them talk, and grow, and develop, and achieve things they may have thought they couldn't...are all reasons why I am thrilled to be in the classroom every day.

Preschool Director, Ally Spanbauer

"Our daughter started going to the Rodef pre-school a few mornings a week just before her 2nd birthday. It was great for her to have the chance to be around other kids in such a loving and nurturing environment. Now she is 3 and I've gone back to work. The pre-school has made it so much easier for me to return to my career than I could have imagined. Julie loves going to Rodef and I love knowing that she is safe, happy and learning while I have to be away from her."
