Curriculum

Because parents are their children’s primary teachers, we partner with parents to expand on their foundations from home, including positive classroom management and establishment of appropriate limits to help each child understand and respect others. Through play-based learning we:

  • Meet the diverse needs of each child using developmentally appropriate practices
  • Immerse each child in a relaxed, loving environment, rich in opportunities for discovery, play and exploration
  • Encourage each child to understand cooperative play and respect of others to build positive peer relationships
  • Guide children towards awareness as individuals, as Jews and as members of their larger community

As we create a caring community of learners and explorers, we encourage parents to participate in classroom activities as volunteers, room parents and drivers for field trips. Parents’ ideas and suggestions are valued and carefully considered. Help with special events and fundraising is also greatly appreciated

In line with our Jewish heritage, our curriculum includes the celebration and observance of Jewish holidays, customs, and values. Friday mornings are very special with an all school Shabbat celebration of group singing and dancing, tzedakah, and often a special visit from Rabbi Rachel Kobrin.

Testimonial

"Our experience of Rodef Shalom Preschool has been truly fantastic. The teachers are caring and nuturing, the program is creative and inspiring. My child comes home every day with a new story share or new song to teach us. The kindness and support we've received from all of the staff has been tremendous. Rodef Shalom Preschool truly is an extended part of our Jewish Family. Thanks for cultivating a great place for my child to grow and learn!"
