Rodef Shalom Summer Fun Camp 2016
Please join us for a jam packed summer of fun. This summer, we will be focusing on different ways of taking care of others; animals; and ourselves. We will be learning this through different Jewish Middot and Mitzvot, but all are universal values. We will definitely be incorporating various in-house events, splash days and many other fun activities.
Session 1: June 6th – June 24th:
Closed Monday, June 13th for Shavuot
Taking Care of Others: During this session we will learn more about Tzedakah (giving charity), Hachnasat Orchim (welcoming guests), and other important topics like taking care of the planet, and ways we can help each other. We will be welcoming friends from other classrooms into our classroom, doing projects that involve making things for our friends, gardening, recycling, and so much more! Plan on a visit from EKAR Farm and the Denver Fire Department.
Session 2: June 27th – July 15th:
Closed Monday, July 4th for Independence Day
Taking care of animals – Tza’ar Ba’aley Chayim: We will be learning about animals and why it is important to take care of them. What do animals give us? Different kinds of animals (farm, jungle and forest). You won’t want to miss the visit from Canyon Critters and Morningstar Miniatures Petting Zoo.
Session 3: July 18th – August 5th:
Taking care of ourselves – Sh’mirat HaGuf: During this session we will be focusing on why it is so important to take care of ourselves. We will learn about healthy eating, exercise, and the reasons it is important to be silly and have fun! We will be cooking, trying healthy foods, finding different ways to keep our bodies active and how being silly can be good for us. We will be working with Sticky Fingers Cooking; Kinderkixx Soccer and Sports, practicing Yoga and much more.
